DJ/MCing in the adult entertainment field is different than DJing at a dance club... At a dance club the DJ IS the entertainment because lights and canned music get really boring after a short period of time. In the adult entertainment industry the DJ/MC is the ringmaster at a circus with tits! The game show host from hell! Keeping the attention of the customers on the stage and the girls, NOT on the DJ. Being fun is the goal, making the club and the girls money is mandatory!. I have a friend , also a DJ at a strip club, who won't stop talking, trying to be "over-the-top", not only does it get boring,but only the ignorant find him to be entertaining or a good DJ. When I stop in that club I can't stay long when he's on the mic because I get uncomfortable due to reading crowd response and talking to the girls.  In the course of one set he talked SHIT for a cumulative two minutes. That doesn't sound like a lot BUT in that one rotation he eliminated one ENTIRE set! The nad tourking fact is that by the end of the night he had talked long enough to eliminate an ENTIRE ROTATION PLUS !!!! That's every girl not hitting the stage one more time. That's their money , the club's money and the DJs money. He doesn't see it and you can't tell him anything different because that would be a complete waste of time. It would be entirely different if he said anything worth hearing but NO !!! Customers bitch and ask if they kill him will I fill in the rest of the night. DJing interferes with my drinking so I usually decline! I don't know how much longer I can keep telling these people "no". Keeping the attention on the stage is what the DJ is there for. <-5 pionts for ending with a preposition> If you are a popular DJ in the adult realm it's usually because you can work the crowd, read the crowd, and make everyone laugh (ussually at your expense) a FEW times a night. Most DJs at strip bars are so BORING that people don't even know they are there. The boundry of being "over-the-top" is a fine line and you have to know when to SHUT THE FUCK UP AND PUSH PLAY !!!!! Music should rarely stop and party keeps on rolling NASCAR style!!! Pit stops on cautions and then 16 seconds MAXIMUM . Gracious me. Was I raving? Until next month .Tits and tunes. Boobs and beer.
