Love her or hate her (most of us loved her) Edie was unforgettable. I hardly remember a single expat living in Naklua who didn&#8217;t hang out at the Malai Bar at one time or the other.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>And unlike most beer bars today, Eddie had some really cute girls working for her.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Let me take you back in time&#8211;to the good ole days<\/h3>\n<p>It&#8217;s Eddie&#8217;s birthday, and \u00a0she&#8217;s gone balls out to bring in a few pretty girls from Sattahip decked out in special uniforms. \u00a0 These girls\u00a0are not Edie&#8217;s bar girls. \u00a0But\u00a0 Edie&#8217;s birthday party, as sensational as it was, \u00a0would be the harbinger of \u00a0a Pattaya tragedy.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\t\t<figure class=\"wp-block-jetpack-videopress jetpack-videopress-player\" style=\"\" >\n\t\t\t<div class=\"jetpack-videopress-player__wrapper\"> <iframe title=\"VideoPress Video Player\" aria-label='VideoPress Video Player' width='474' height='267' src='https:\/\/videopress.com\/embed\/paCoOhSJ?cover=1&amp;autoPlay=0&amp;controls=1&amp;loop=0&amp;muted=0&amp;persistVolume=1&amp;playsinline=0&amp;preloadContent=metadata&amp;useAverageColor=1&amp;posterUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fvideos.files.wordpress.com%2FpaCoOhSJ%2Fmali-bar-tragedy_mp4.scrubthumb.jpg&amp;hd=0' frameborder='0' allowfullscreen data-resize-to-parent=\"true\" allow='clipboard-write'><\/iframe><script src='https:\/\/v0.wordpress.com\/js\/next\/videopress-iframe.js?m=1674852142'><\/script><\/div>\n\t\t\t<figcaption>At this time Malai Bar was the best bar in Naklua hands down. She was about twenty back then. She would later mature to be even more beautiful with a far better command of English than she had in the old Malai Bar days.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/alphapro.com\/februarylooking07\/cope.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cope, one of the prettiest girls dancing<\/a> is&nbsp;now living in Germany after marrying a German. &nbsp;Which is probably good for her, but bad for the rest of us. &nbsp;She was very pretty, and even prettier the last time I saw her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There&#8217;s a beautiful lady in the video dancing next to Cope. &nbsp;You wouldn&#8217;t believe she&#8217;s a lady boy though. &nbsp;Like Cope, we haven&#8217;t seen her in Pattaya for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today (it&#8217;s August 2017) , the band is nowhere to be found. &nbsp;The Malai Bar is barely open. &nbsp;It sits there devoid of customers while its owners wait in Bangkok for a buyer. &nbsp;A single woman looks after the place as caretaker. &nbsp;But I can still buy a drink there, and sometimes I go over to talk with her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-but-back-to-the-golden-years-of-malai-bar\">But back to the Golden Years of Malai Bar<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Edie being a very special kind of bar owner always paid her band a lot of money. &nbsp;She also had A LOT more customers than any other bar around. &nbsp;If all this sounds like a Pattaya tragedy, it gets much worse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My tilac, the tilac in this video, is no longer in my life. &nbsp;She was Edie&#8217;s niece, and it was because of her that I used to come to the Malai Bar quite often. &nbsp;So did most of my friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Edie was a very special kind of bar owner, the likes of whom we will probably never see again. &nbsp;But in spite of her brilliance at running a bar, &nbsp;she somehow lost a lot of money and had to sell the bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Malai Bar would never be the same again. &nbsp;Not even close. &nbsp;But the real Pattaya tragedy here is there is not single bar in Naklua, Thailand since the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alphapro.com\/novemberlooking09\/birthdaygirlbar.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Girl Beer Bar<\/a> that is even 10 percent of what the Malai Bar once was. &nbsp;The Malai Bar no longer has any customers except for an occasional man or woman who wants to have a drink with the bar&#8217;s solitary caretaker. &nbsp; It sits there next to the Pen Bar, vacant, in mute testimony to all the great times we all used to have there. &nbsp;When any man or woman who wanted to put on a show could come up and sing or dance in front of the crowd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Which you will see in this video. &nbsp;There&#8217;s a beautiful incredibly sexy Thai woman dancing as Edie&#8217;s band plays &#8220;Suzie Q&#8221;. &nbsp;Then there&#8217;s a muscular handsome German playing the guitar as he sings, &#8220;Welcome to the Free World.&#8221; &nbsp;The video ends with Edie getting practically everyone, her bar girls and customers,&nbsp;dancing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-but-the-final-pattaya-tragedy-is-edie-was-murdered\">But the final Pattaya tragedy is Edie was murdered<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>several years ago while driving her car back to Sattahip from a Soi 7 or 8 she had been&nbsp;managing. &nbsp; &nbsp;This video&#8217;s for her.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/alphapro.com\/funhouse\/category\/jack-corbett-video-channel\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"100\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/alphapro.com\/funhouse\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/bar-girl-videos.jpg?resize=300%2C100&#038;quality=60\" alt=\"bar-girl-videos\" class=\"wp-image-2237\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The date is 2006, and\u00a0it&#8217;s Edie&#8217;s birthday party at the Naklua Malai Bar. \u00a0Edie, will become a Pattaya tragedy. \u00a0But only a few years ago, Edie had the best band in Naklua.
