Mamasan has Mali as DJ
Although Soi Chaiyapoon's a lot farther than Soi 6, we were ready for a break. Soi Six really disappointed us the last time we visited there. I've got a theory. Which should surprise you. And that's the Soi owned bars are much better run than those owned and managed by falang.
Take Nikky Bar for example. Which unfortunately is gone forever now that the powers that be have demolished all the bars near Soi 33 on Naklua Road. But the powers that be removed my favorite Italian Restaurant, the Tailor Shop next to Nikky Bar and Best Supermarket. With Best moving to an even better location. But Nikky's moved to the United Kingdom. And lately on Soi Six a couple of our favorite bars have been playing electro shit for their music. I don't call it electro shit, however. Because I prefer to call a spade a spade. So, I call it Da Da Music because it has just two beats. Da Da originated from ancient African tribesmen beating on their drums. It's that primitive. And its the most primitive people alive who enjoy it.
But, in the last Thai owned bars I've visited lately the music's been quite good. There's that place on 2nd Road. I don't even know its name. But I know a lot about the Smoke and Kisses Organization. Starting with Smoke and Kisses on Soi Six. And I used to visit Lolly top Bar. Where I could play whatever music I liked for an hour or two. And finally Smoke and Mirrors. But tonight's our night at Crazy Fox. Which has the same owner who owns Smoke and Mirrors, Lollytop Bar, and Smoke and Kisses.
Bottom Line is the bar girls will do what they are told if their bar is owned and managed by Thais.
Whereas it the bar has falang management, the bar girls often insist on playing whatever music they want. And it doesn't matter what their falang bosses tell them. That being said in most German falang bars the Germans control their girls. Whereas in general in other falang bars the managers are so afraid of losing their jobs that they will Kow Tow to a Thai cashier or the bar girls. Too often the owner is either too far away to know what's really going on in his bar, or he really doesn't care.
Tonight, Mali will wind up playing nearly every song here at the Crazy Fox. And that's because Anna, the mamasan encourages her to do so.
