After reading Ian Flemmings
Dr. No. Or watching Sean Connery playing James Bond on
the big screen, I have to say that Ian Flemming was living
in a dream world. Because the question is the Walther
PPK better then the Beretta 25 acp should never have to be
asked in the first place.
My father used to be a mortician
who worked on a lot of dead bodies. Many were
suicides. Dad had nothing but contenpt for the .25
a.c.p. I suppose the fact that he had once embalmed a
suicide who had shot himself in the forehead had a lot to do
with it. Which failed to penetrate his skull.
Because when the man woke up he had to put the pistol next
to his temple to finish the job.
But, as
beautiful as it is, Q could have armed James Bond with much
better sidearms than the PPK. And if James Bond had really been
worthy of authentic British secret agents he would never have
carried a 25 caliber Beretta. Or replaced it with the PPK.
Which is why I am calling Bond James Bum. And why I shot
digital pictures of Taylor, a beautiful young stripper posing
with 007's Walther PPK. While calling her the Roxys Bomb
(shell) girl.
Looking back at my three years
writing for Xtreme I still marvel at how I could write serious
gun articles while being surrounded by beautiful strippers during my
photo shoots
