Discover the St. Louis Zoo: A Historic Gem in Forest Park
Experience the historic St. Louis Zoo in
Forest Park, once a beloved attraction of the 1904 World's Fair.

Sorry, I never got around to
getting this one done. Instead, I moved to Thailand. In all
deference to the St. Louis Zoo, no zoo in the United States can begin to match
Thailand's
Khao Kheow Zoo.
The
United States has just gotten to be too protective, liability conscious
and run by the lawyers to be fun anymore. Want to ride elephants,
come to Thailand because someone's suing the elephant he falls off of in
the United States. Want to feed a rhinoceros? Come to Khao
Kheow Zoo where there will only be a five foot high fence between you
and the beast's monstrous horn. A hippopotamus? There's a
slightly bigger fence between you and the hippo than there was
separating you from the Rhino simply because the hippo is the more
dangerous of the two. Want to feed crocodiles by dangling a whole
chicken above them from a bamboo pole? No can do in the U.S.
because the rangers are afraid you will fall in. The United
States just simply forgot what life's all about. I'll take Fun
City here in Pattaya any day. Hey, this zoo is so big they'll even
rent you a golf cart to get you around.
