Bambi works dayshift at Platinum Club.
by Jack Corbett
Before she started dancing, Bambi worked at a variety of daytime jobs, oftentimes as a manager. So why does she seem to be so much fun? So original and creative when she improvises, moving from pose to pose before the camera? Could it be her youth since she's just twenty?
I get a sense that she's a take charge kind of person after shooting just a few pictures. "Let's see what she can do," I tell myself before instructing her to do whatever she wants to do. "I'll just follow you around the place and take pictures as we go," I tell her.
She moves around Platinum's upstairs, sitting down in a cushy sofa, propping herself on top of the VIP room's bar, and finally dancing around on the upstairs stage. I just let her do her own thing and she keeps coming up with new ideas and poses.
Bake, who's Djing today walks into the VIP lounge. Bake's going to be on the web site too so I tell them to pose together before my camera. Bambi does exactly what I want without my saying another word. Later, we sit at the bar together going through the pictures we had just taken on my laptop.
Gina, the manager, comes up to us and I start talking with her. But Bambi's been watching me bring up her images on the laptop. The little computer beckons. She wants to see her pictures. But I'm talking with Gina and when I look over again at Bambi she's taken over the keyboard, pulling up picture after picture. When Gina leaves I start manipulating one of Bambi's pictures in a graphics arts program. She wants to try it and I can hardly get her off the keyboard.
She's fast moving, alert, and quick thinking. But I really don't know her. This I can tell. She's smart and she's a take charge kind of girl, far more so than most twenty year olds.
But she's not bossy or demanding. And she's fun. Definitely worth getting to know. |
