Sixty years have passed since a band I've long ago forgotten played "Dance to the Music" at my High School junior prom. Back then the music from Sly and the Family Stone was so captivating that it could knock a man right out of his socks. Sly's problem was that he only showed up for about half of his bookings. If that. So Sly's career in the limelight only lasted for about 3 or 4 years.

So I pretty much forgot all about Sly and the Family Stone, until one night Nikky played "Sing me a Simple Song" at one of her fabulous bar parties. And I stiill vividly recall Gee drunk out of her mind dancing to Sly's music. And then, just three weeks ago I learned that Sly Stone had passed on. So tonight I played it here at Sweet Bar as Mali and I had our last drink together with Ninja. Before we left to join Silent Bob and Ray at Nymphoz. Which really isn't Nymphoz at all. But only the bar next to Nymphoz, taking its place on account of the water damage incurred at Nymphoz.
But "Sing me a Simple Song" only appears at the very end of the following video. And very little of it at that.
