Pattaya's Best Restaurant isPeter's Bakery on Naklua Soi 12

Panino's Restaurant, which is also called Peter's Bakery, is rated Pattaya's Best Restaurant by the   Looking Glass Magazine.

 Its owner, Peter, is from Belgium.  Not only is Peter a master chief, he also has a Thai sidekick, who not long ago trained at a Bangkok Hotel Restaurant that cooked meals for the Queen of Thailand.  What puts Panino's over the top is both men are true artists who don't settle for merely cooking a great dish--the dish also has to have great visual appeal, an example of which might be a small salad which is prepared in a floral arrangement. 

The first thing that struck me about Panino's is its menu which is both extensive and interesting.  Take its sandwich section for example.  There's six pages of different types of sandwiches including an entire section of Vegetarian sandwiches.  And this does not count two more pages of burgers including three different Vegetarian burghers.  The menu displays ten different salads.  There's two pages of Pasta dishes followed by still another two pages of Vegetarian pastas.  And finally there's still another four pages of Pizzas including, Yes, you guessed it, Vegetarian Pizzas.

Panino's will also deliver to your hotel or condo as long as it's in Naklua.  There is only only downside to Panino's and that is it's difficult to find.  To get there just head North on Naklua Road out of Pattaya or the South side of Naklua until you get to Naklua Soi 12.  That's the same street the Sanctuary of Truth is on.  In fact,  It's only one hundred meters due East of the Sanctuary of Truth which is roughly 2 kilometers East of Naklua Road on Soi 12.

Naklua has been blessed by a substantial concentration of Germans who have settled in here as expats.  Many of these Germans have established restaurants  representing terrific value.  For example our other top rated restaurant, ironically also named Peter's offers a top notch daily special for just 99 baht.  Anton's near Soi 18 off Naklua Road offers to my mind the best buffet dinner in the Pattaya area.  So there's a lot of competition in Naklua alone for the Looking Glass's top rating.  But in spite of it, Panino's stands alone at the very pinnacle of the Naklua area's restaurants.  Its menu is outstanding, both chefs are terrific, the service is superior, and its prices are very modest. What more is there to want in a restaurant?  The only other restaurant that comes to mind as being its equal is Greg's Kitchen on 2nd Road near Bangkok Bank but Greg's is a little far for me to travel to on a day to day basis and its prices are a little  steep so I'm giving it my number two rating.  But first, a couple of more comments about Greg's.  Greg, a former London chef, is a fanatical perfectionist, and second, the size of his servings is gargantous.   But Panino's and Greg's are the only two restaurants in the area that make me salivate every time I think of them.

I'm hungry and right now I'm salivating.  I have the Panino's menu right in front of me.  Across its  front it says, "Panino's, Delivery, 085-0830006".  I've got a crew of five installing my new jacuzzi right now in my condo and I'm just not quite comfortable with leaving.  Besides, it's just 10:30 in the morning.  Will Panino's deliver this early?   I don't think so.  I think they are only serving breakfast this early.  But I'll tell you right now where I'm heading tonight for dinner.
