No other bar in either Naklua or
Pattaya that we
know of can begin to match the Girl Beer Bar. Here's
why Naklua's Girl Bar is number one.
Super Girls is rated the Looking Glass number one go-go bar for
several reasons but it's the beauty of the women that's primary
surpassing any go-go bar's selection of fine looking Thai women.
One expects that from any decent go-go bar, but Girl Bar, isn't
even in Pattaya. It's in Naklua where one's expectations for
quality of women does not run nearly as high. And that's
where Girl Bar is such a huge surprise because Girl Bar has a
stable of pretty women that no beer bar we've discovered yet can
begin to match. Number two, the attitude of
these girls is just plain terrific. This is one group of
happy campers. Even if there are just a few customers
here and most girls are having an off night, you will find the
ladies hitting on their private stock of Mekong while dancing up a
storm. The other night I bought the girls a bottle of Thai
whiskey and every girl who drank from that bottle came up to me to
toast me and thank me. It was the best 220 baht I spent all
week long. Make no mistake, these girls are for the
most part a bunch of live wires who will light up your evening.
Third is the security. Do you get annoyed by all those pesky
street vendors who keep coming up to you while you are trying to
talk to your friends or a girl in a beer bar? Well we do.
We didn't come here to pay our good money for beer just to have a
bunch of vendors come in to interrupt us so that they could sell
us flowers, lottery tickets, movies (half of which are extremely
low quality), watches, polaroid pictures, and so on ad nauseum.
I'll bet if you counted the times you got interrupted by someone
trying to sell you something you have no interest in buying that
you'd be up to over twenty in the first two hours in your average
beer bar. Well, that's not going to happen to you at the
Girl Bar. They have a Thai security guard sitting on his
motorbike right on the sidewalk in front of the bar entrance.
And he does his damnest to keep such pests out of the place.
He won't let you get your motorbike stolen either if you decide to
park it here and go somewhere else.
The music's good here too. And unlike the bars on Soi 7 and
8 where the music's coming from several or more bars at once while
assaulting your eardrums from four directions at once, it's all
coming from the Girl Bar with the exception of those times it's
coming from next door when one of the neighboring bars has a group
of singers performing out on the sidewalk.
So what more can be said
about the Girl Bar that puts it on top of all the others? It's
larger than most other beer bars which means you will probably never
feel cramped here. It's got an overall sense of fun.
Here even the customers can usually be seen dancing around the place,
especially later at night when they've had enough to drink. It's
got a great location on the West side of Naklua Road just South of Soi
18. Which means we can park out motorbikes there, go in for a beer
or two, and then simply cross the street to catch the next taxi over to
Walking Street or just about anywhere else we want to go to without
risking our precious hides and lives by driving down Naklua Road, 2nd
Road, Beach Road etc with all the drunken and brain dead drivers
trying to kill us. Then with or without a
girl we have bar fined we can simply get back on our bikes upon our
return to the Girl Bar and go back to the condo on the back streets
where there's hardly a car or motorbike to be found (or run into).
Mamasan is cool. She will dance with you for one thing and she's
not one of those Mamasan's who's always asking her customers to buy her
drinks. The place is kept scrupulously clean. It's a German
Bar and it's clientele are primarily German. So you can just
imagine me and two of my English friends getting completely toasted last
week and all three of us exclaiming excitedly, "This is the Best Bar in
Naklua." Then one of them shouting, "Naklua hell, it's the best
damn bar in the entire area." I'm American and there's plenty of
American and English Bars throughout the area and some of them we like
very much. So that's one helluva note for all three of us to give
our number one rating to a bar that is owned by a German and that caters
to Germans.
I took the following pictures
during a birthday party for the Girl Bar's cashier
Many of the girls were not even working the bar, having just stopped in
to dance, drink and party on.
