My home away from home is the Pattaya Centara Grand Mirage Resort Fitness Center: Mali demonstrates why it’s the best

I have always taken physical exercise seriously. When I had a sales position in Chicago with the Hardy Salt Company I got a membership at the Evanston YMCA straight off. And when I moved to the farm south of Springfield, Illinois, I immediately got a membership at the Springfield YMCA which had an indoor running track. Several years later I converted a one-car garage to a sensational fitness room with an entire wall covered with mirrors to make the room look bigger.
But now, I live in Thailand and have been here for twenty years now.
One of the great things about living in Pattaya is I can exercise every day of the year without it getting too cold, or too hot. So, I will typically run along the beach up to 10 kilometers a day, or swim for an hour in our condo swimming pool. Or exercise at Pattaya Centara Grand Mirage Resort Fitness.
I don’t lift weights anymore. But I never did a lot of weight- lifting. It has its place, but it can in no way replace good cardio. I still do a little boxing and even have a heavy punching bag in the living room of my condo. Although I will work out with dumb bells every now and then, an abdominal exercise wheel for my stomach, or gravity inversion boots, a good exercise program for me comes down to three exercises: swimming, running, and the elliptical machine.
So why would I pay a lot more money for a Pattaya Centara Grand Mirage Resort Fitness membership when there are a lot of cheaper alternatives available?
In this video, you will see a huge variety of exercise equipment that’s available here at Centara. You will also notice that there’s very few people here, which means I can get right down to business without having to wait.
My favorite exercise machine is the elliptical machine. I can put a usb loaded with my favorite music into the usb slot in the machine and exercise to my music for an hour at a time. Cost of the machine I use is over $13000, and that’s just for one machine. I can’t put a figure on the cost of all the exercise machines here, but I’d estimate it at between a quarter and a half million U.S. Dollars.
Although Mali doesn’t normally exercise, she’s working out for an entire hour on three machines in this video. We will eat at Centara’s very own Japanese Restaurant as soon as we leave the fitness center. Because I have a fitness membership I get a 15 % discount on our food. There are several other great restaurants here, such as a scenic beach side restaurant, a great buffet and snacks at what I call the Elephant bar just inside Centara’s front entrance.
At the Centara Grand Mirage Resort, it’s first class all the way. That’s why I’ve had a one-year fitness membership for over eight years.
