Nikon Z8 focus in low light Thailand Bars

I’ve taken Gee and Mali with me to five Pattaya Bars to test drive my brand-new Nikon Z8 focus in low light.

Mali and Gee at the Sweet Bar on Pattaya Soi Six.

What is needed is a camera that focuses faster and more accurately than my Nikon Z7ii. Because most of my shooting is video in dimly lit Pattaya bars. Although my Nikon Z7ii is an outstanding camera, the Nikon Z 8 reputedly focuses twice as well in challenging lighting situations.

And I’ve got both Mali and Gee available to find out just what the Nikon Z-8 can do for us. I bought it just three days before taking it to Soi Six for this outing. And with it I got a small wireless Rode microphone. I’ve just traded my Nikon Z7ii camera in for it. But as much as I loved the Nikon Z7ii, my reason for switching was the Nikon Z8 focus. What I need is a camera that focuses faster and more accurately in low light than the Nikon Z7ii. And the Nikon Z8 focus is reputedly twice as good.

But one thing struck me in this outing. Besides what I learned about the Nikon Z8 focus. And that is which bars I should be spending my money in from now on.

All five of the five bars in these ten videos show clearly why I should keep going to them. All five appreciate the videos I’m doing. And the girls I bring. Most of them being excellent dancers with great personalities.

Go-go bars are out. They are boring. They are expensive and for the most part the girls in them are fat and butt ugly. And I can’t take pictures or videos in them.

While the managers and owners of several Soi Six bars have told me I cannot change their music. And the girls I bring into their bars can’t either.

While just recently one of the managers of a Soi Six bar told me I could not shoot videos in his bar. One must consider though that if I want to change the music in a bar, it’s because the bar’s playing that electro crap that I call dada, or two beat noise. So, I should stop going to any bar that plays all that electro noise.

Fortunately, there’s other bars on Soi Six that play good music, and which appreciate the video I do in them.

But there are those bars that are overly concerned that their customers are going to complain that I might capture them in my videos. While I will contend that except in rare cases their customers could care less. And for the one of two jerks who complain once in a while., no one should ever cater to them. They probably have criminal records in their home countries after all. While in all five bars we visited two nights ago, there’s never been a single indication of any issue from my taking pictures or video. And I’m not talking just one night several nights ago. I’ve been going to them for months now and find that my Nikon’s are much appreciated in these five bars.

And that’s because the owners and managers of these bars are hungry for all the publicity that comes their way. While those who fail to understand that good video brings a lot of customers to their doors have missed the plot.

The Spot’s Kiwi owned. That is its owner is from New Zealand, while its manager’s from Ireland. But it has an English DJ on the payroll. Which shows that playing good music is important here.
