The moment of Truth arrives. Four out of the five judges gather around a table to decide who’s the number one Pattaya dancer.
The judges picking out who won the competition to become the Number One Pattaya Dancer. Lenny to the right is my neighbor. To Lenny’s right is Giom from France. To Giom right is Jarius, who used to be a Night Wish Manager on Soi Six. And to the far left is David B who was visiting me from Rayong for three days on the weekend of the competition. Gene’s sitting somewhere else, but he’s given his voting form to Lenny.
Each judge has a voting form which he fills out with his first choice, second choice and third choice. Each first choice gets 3 points. Second choice 2 points and third choice 1 point. the judge’s choices are by the girl’s number which she has worn during her show. The girl who gets the most points from all five ballots is the Number One Pattaya Dancer.
One of the judges tells me Gee #7 wins. But five minutes later the judges tells me and the band: There’s a three way tie between girl # 2, girl number 6 and girl number 7.
This is unbelievable. What will the judges do now?
The judges decide that the three girls will dance for one song. Together. And only then will they will they pick the Number one Pattaya Dancer, the runner up and the second runner up.
Wow! How can this happen? But oh well, the judges did not expect this. And I’ll say this for them. They are being very fair.

My goal is to do what has never been done before here in Pattaya, Thailand. Even though it’s done often in adult clubs in the U.S. I don’t think Pattaya’s ever seen a dancing contest like this before. Or not that I’ve heard of. Nikky and I have chosen to call our event, the Naklua Dancing Queen Competition. Because Nikky bar’s in Naklua, not Pattaya.
Gee on stage. Gee is not with the other six competitors in the group pictures I took.
I’ve shot a few videos of Gee before. Most noteworthy is the three bar video I shot of her several weeks ago when I took her into three of my favorite Soi Six bars.
It’s my birthday. You all know me as Jack Corbett. But that’s not my real name. I’ve written six books as Jack Corbett. And I’ve covered lots of dancing events all over the United States as a photographer and writer representing Xtreme Magazine.
But after living in Pattaya for sixteen years it’s time to make my dream a reality. The result is the Naklua Dancing Queen Competition.
The Naklua Dancing Queen Competition has one single minded goal of choosing the sexiest, most exciting bar girl in Pattaya.
That’s what I told Nikky and the five judges I chose to pick out a winner.

I have given each judge a voting form on which they will each cast three votes. 1. For the judge’s first choice, 2. for each judge’s choice of runner up and 3. For each judge’s choice as second runner up. Gene another American pal of mine, the fifth judge, is not in this picture. Over to the left sitting next to David is Per Johansen, from Norway who’s one of the main characters in my second book Welcome to the Fun House.
The prize is to be 4000 baht for the number one performer, 2000 baht for the runner up and 1000 baht for the second runner up.
But the winner will wind up taking home close to 5000 baht counting her tips. And that’s nearly $200.00 U.S. Which is just the start of what the top three performers will wind up making.
I have asked all five judges to make his own choice for his favorite three Thai dancers. And to totally disregard any comments I might make that might favor one girl over the rest.
You won’t find the winner here. At least not just yet. Because I’m going to produce two more videos before I’m going to let the cat out of the bag.
Once again my goal was to create the most fair Pattaya dancing contest to choose the sexiest most exciting performer Pattaya has to offer. I’m doing this U.S. stye where I’ve played my part both as a photographer and writer. And carefully watched how some of the finest adult clubs in the U.S. judged their winners. The M.S. Texas Pageant at Club Maximus which hired me three times to shoot their dancing events is an example of what Nikky and I just accomplished.

There’s nothing like getting a three hour massage at the Nikky Bar during her Naklua New Years Eve Party. But it’s even better when I’m surrounded by four delectable Thai women
I’m cock of the walk on this New Years Eve. My masseuse is wearing my infamous Jack hat. But I am by no means the handsomest devil here at Nikky Bar. It’s my Nikon D780 camera that makes me special. Never mind that I’m buying all four ladies lots of drinks.
There’s lots of customers here even though Nikki’s still in London tuning into all the action that’s happening in her bar. It’s a perfect night for proving to myself just what my Nikon D780 can do with video.
I’ve got my 24-70 2.8 lens on the Nikon D780 body I traded by Nikon D750 in for. And as far as I’m concerned nothing touches this spectacular lens.
It weighs one entire kilo. So even the Thai women who know next to nothing about cameras know that I’ve brought one very serious camera with me.
I’m shooting in Live view mode with the Nikon’s viewfinder pulled out giving me a very clear view of what I’m videoing. And I am amazed at how the little indicator is nearly always green. Showing that my camera’s perfectly focusing on my subject. My Nikon 750 I traded for this camera never managed to display so much green while I was shooting video.
Back in my condo, I had been comparing my new Go Pro 10 and my Panasonic mirrorless fast focusing to my Nikon 780. And found that neither one of them could do nearly as well.

The distances I am shooting at vary. While the lighting conditions throughout the bar vary from being adequately bright to shadowy darkness.
The Thai massage girl is a real masseuse. And not just some bar girl who can do an acceptable massage. She’s one of the best. And although she can’t speak English very well, she always seeks me out whenever I come to Nikky Bar. She dances but she oftentimes dances too close to me. That Nikon 24 by 70 mm lense will nearly do it all from shooting wide angle to moderate zoom. But shooting her, I’d be better off using my 17 by 35 mm wide angle Nikon lense. I’ll just have to bring it next time.
The second girl I video is the new girl. I know here from somewhere. I just can’t recall where I’ve encountered her before. This is the third time I’ve run into her here. And each time she’s going for me in a big way. If she’s been from Soi SIx I would have not hesitated to take her upstairs.
But It’s Naklua New Year’s Eve and I’ve already brought a date with me. Her name’s Mali, and she’s only 23.
Seeing that I am getting massaged the new girl here at Nikky Bar turns her attentions toward Mali. Later she starts giving Mali a massage. And who can blame her. Slight in build with her hair dyed blonde with her face normally open and friendly, Mali’s a real attention getter wherever she goes.
She has her hair dyed a dark blonde which makes her really stand out since all Thai women are brunettes. While she weighs just 34 kilos. Which is only 75 pounds. I’ve been seeing a lot of her. Especially now that LIttle Miss Eye’s dropped out of sight. But not out of mind.
I knew it was the right thing to bring her here. Five times, I’ve brought women into Nikky Bar as dates. No, more than that. But each time the girls have made the woman who I’ve brought feel right at home.
That’s the thing about Nikky who is the master out of all masters at making all her customers feel right at home. But Nikky’s not here. She’s still in London waiting out this latest covid 19 lockdown which until a week ago kept all of Pattaya’s bars closed.
But Nikky’s right here with the rest of us during Naklua New Year’s Eve.
She’s constantly calling either me or one of the girls sitting with me up on Line video. Although she’s thousands of miles away, it’s almost as if Nikky’s never left. Too many bars fail due to their owners not paying attention to business. Or succumbing to alcohol abuse. But Nikky’s forever present. Her heart and soul at one with her bar.
